This reference design device has eight stereo channels and two line level outputs for active speakers. Additionally it is equipped with a stereo line input for an external audio source and a microphone input for speech and ambient noise. It includes an expansion header for additional signal-processing for MP3, Dolby Digital, Dolby AC3, Dolby ProLogic, DTS, THX and other formats.

The Amplifier 4 MOST demonstrates the flexibility and cost effectiveness of application specific media controller series. It is implemented using a single OS88558 amplifier controller. This chip does all the processing necessary to transport audio information from a MOST Network to external speakers.
