NS V3 NS V2 NS V1 oPHY ePHY MediaLB DTCP MOST150 MOST50 MOST25 DescriptionThe Physical+ Interface Board OS81XXX encapsulates the entire physical hardware interface of a MOST® network. It connects to SMSC’s INIC I/O Board, which is part of the INIC Evaluation Platform OS81XXX or to a customized application board which both include an External Host Controller (EHC). Hardware Structure Example: Based on the incorporated kernel design of the Physical+ Interface Board OS81XXX, the application developed can be designed to be detached from MOST network speed grades or physical layers. This can be especially useful for application hardware designed in early development phases. By performing a few simple steps, the Physical+ Interface Board OS81XXX can be exchanged, which allows the application to access other network speeds. This facilitates a simple upgrade of a MOST25 application to a MOST50 or MOST150 application. In addition to upgrading the application to another network speed, board versions (1-3) of the Physical+ Interface Board OS81110 enable the application to stream all available data types for MOST150 based applications. All board options support a specific combination of hardware ports. Depending upon the ports required for the application and the data type(s) to be streamed, a board option can be chosen, and its ports can be easily accessed by using either the default pin configuration or selecting another pin configuration, which is done via the INIC Explorer. The table below provides an overview of the pin configuration settings incorporated in each board option: Block Diagram:
