Only members of the MOST Cooperation are entitled to request a copy of the MOST25 Data Link Layer specification. A non-disclosure agreement (NDA) covering the MOST25 Data Link Layer specification has to be in place.

Licenses to the MOST25 Data Link Layer patent intellectual property (MOST25 Protocol IP) are available on a royalty-bearing basis similar to other comparable networking technologies, such as CAN. Licensees can create their own design implementations of a MOST25 interface using these patents.
