INIC eLITE Starter Kit
The INIC eLITE Starter Kit provides an effective way to observe, evaluate, and develop a functioning INIC eLITE networking system. It implements an audio link between a source node and a sink node, while demonstrating the simplicity of establishing an INIC eLITE configuration link. The Starter Kit software includes a Port Message Viewer that displays the disassembled I2C communication between the EHC and the OS81082 INIC. The INIC eLITE Starter Kit also includes an API manual, along with application reference software.
The INIC eLITE Starter Kit consists of:
- INIC eLITE Board (sink node)
- OS81082 Evaluation Board (source node)
- INIC Explorer - displays the operational state of INIC, including the configuration of the internal data routing through the device
- OptoLyzer G2 Lite 1050e network analyzer - enables network monitor functions, the sourcing of data signals, and monitoring network messages
- Manuals, application reference software, cables, headphones, and support documentation
INIC eLITE Board
The INIC eLITE Board is a reference board design that demonstrates the simplicity of an INIC eLITE remote node. The board operates as an audio sink. It receives four digital audio signals from the network, con-verts them to analog, and is capable of driving two stereo outputs. An on-board 8-pin Atmel
® ATtiny45 micro-controller implements all of the functionality needed to manage the node, including the AudioAmplifier FBlock (Function Block). An on-board temperature sensor is included, allowing the board's temperature to be read by the OS81082 Evaluation Board from across the network link.
OS81082 Evaluation Board
The OS81082 Evaluation Board is used in the INIC eLITE Starter Kit to simulate the functions of a timing master and an audio source. It discovers the INIC eLITE Board, places the source audio data onto the network, and directs the INIC eLITE Board to this audio data. Port Message Viewer software is included, which utilizes the output of the I
2C SPY port to display the disassembled communication between the EHC and the OS81082 INIC. Since the OS81082 Evaluation Board is intended to support MOST50 ePHY development projects, it also includes functionality beyond the INIC eLITE application.
OptoLyzer G2 Lite 1050e
The OptoLyzer G2 Lite 1050e is an entry level tool for analyzing, monitoring, sourcing, and observing an INIC eLITE network. It provides access to control messages and realtime streaming channels.
The OptoLyzer G2 Lite 1050e includes the OptoLyzer OL1050e hardware and the OptoLyzer Suite Lite software.

- Network status and message monitoring, including an "Invisible Slave" mode
- Ability to send control messages to other nodes
- Ability to change network settings
INIC Explorer
INIC Explorer is a tool consisting of a hardware and a software component, the INIC Explorer interface box and the INIC Explorer software. The INIC Explorer interface box is connected to the OS81082 Evaluation Board via a ribbon cable and the PC via an RS232/USB cable.
With the INIC Explorer connected to the Configuration Header Connector of your application, the operational state of INIC can be displayed on the basis of FBlock NetBlock and FBlock INIC functions. States and state changes can be explored at a particular point in time. Analysis and customization of INIC's Configuration String are also features of the INIC Explorer.
Hardware
- Header to target platform including a 14-pin ribbon cable
- PC connection via USB with a virtual COM port
- USB to RS232 adapter
Software
INIC Explorer software is compatible with Windows 2000/XP. The software enables viewing, editing, and writing of the INIC Configuration String.
