Sub-Modules

The MOST System Management Module is a library which plugs onto the MOST NetServices API. It consists of four sub-modules:

• Network Master
• Power Master
• Low-Level Connection Manager
• Extended Connection Manager (High-level Connection Manager)

Note The MOST Specification so far only specifies Network Master, Power Master and Low-Level Connection Manager. Nonetheless most of the system implementations also need a higher instance of management for synchronous connections, a high-level Connection Manager. The MOST Cooperation is going to standardize this high-level Connection Manager as well. Our implementation - the Extended Connection Manager - will be held compliant to this standardization.

Implementation

The sub-modules of the MOST System Management Module can run on different MOST nodes. The Low-Level Connection Manager and the Extended Connection Manager must run on the same MOST node.
