Return Material Authorization
SMSC's Automotive Infotainment Systems offers its customers an effective and efficient RMA procedure for integrated circuits intended to collect relevant information required to improve overall product quality.
Our Quality and Reliability Engineering Department oversees the RMA process as described in the following steps. If you have any questions, the Quality Department can be contacted at quality-ais@smsc.com.
RMA procedure:
- Obtain an RMA number from the Quality Department by sending an email to quality-ais@smsc.com prior to returning the device.
- After obtaining an RMA number, send the device(s) in a well padded (i.e. foam padding or bubble wrapping) ESD-safe package to SMSC's Automotive Infotainment Systems office in Austin, TX at the address below.
- SMSC will update you on the status of your device(s) through the evaluation process.
When returning a device, it is very important that you provide us with all information regarding the failure of the device. This will help us in detecting and correcting the problem as quickly as possible.
Customer satisfaction is our top priority and we welcome any comments on potential improvement to our RMA process. If you require additional information throughout this process, more information can be acquired by contacting the Quality Department at quality-ais@smsc.com.
